Clear water leucorrhea is not necessarily cancer, but may be related to physiological factors or diseases such as vaginitis and cervicitis. Clear water leucorrhea mainly occurs due to increased secretions during ovulation, bacterial vaginosis, trichomonas vaginitis, cervical columnar epithelial ectopia, fallopian tube cancer, etc.
1. Increased secretions during ovulation
During the ovulation period, women may experience transparent and thin watery leucorrhea due to increased estrogen levels and increased cervical mucus secretion, which is a normal physiological phenomenon. There is usually no itching or odor, and it will resolve on its own after 2-3 days. No special treatment is required, just keep the perineum clean.
2. Bacterial vaginosis
An imbalance of vaginal flora may cause a thin, gray-white discharge with a fishy odor, but it is not cancer. It may be related to factors such as frequent vaginal douching and multiple sexual partners. Metronidazole vaginal effervescent tablets, clindamycin phosphate vaginal suppositories or lactobacilli vaginal capsules can be used to regulate the bacterial flora as directed by your doctor.
3. Trichomonal vaginitis
Caused by Trichomonas vaginalis infection, it manifests as yellow-green foamy thin leucorrhea with obvious itching. Spouses should be treated together and sexual intercourse should be avoided. Metronidazole tablets, tinidazole suppositories or ornidazole capsules are commonly used for treatment, and underwear needs to be boiled and disinfected.
4. Cervical columnar epithelial ectopia
When the cervical columnar epithelium migrates outward, glandular hypersecretion can lead to an increase in transparent mucus-like leucorrhea. It may be related to chronic inflammatory stimulation, and lesions can be ruled out through cervical TCT and HPV examination. Asymptomatic patients do not need treatment. If necessary, Baofukang suppository or laser treatment can be used.
5. Fallopian tube cancer
Fallopian tube cancer may cause paroxysmal watery vaginal discharge, but the probability is low and is often accompanied by lower abdominal pain and pelvic mass. The diagnosis needs to be confirmed through ultrasound, tumor marker CA125 detection and pathological biopsy. In the early stage, fallopian tube resection is feasible, while in the late stage, chemotherapy such as paclitaxel injection is required.
You should choose cotton underwear and change it daily, and avoid using alkaline lotions to rinse the vagina. If clear water leucorrhea lasts for more than 1 week, or is accompanied by bleeding, odor, abdominal pain and other symptoms, it is recommended to go to the doctor as soon as possible for routine leucorrhea, cervical cancer screening and other examinations. Women over 40 years old are recommended to have regular gynecological examinations every year, including ultrasound and tumor marker testing.
