Yulin City comprehensively improves the level of traditional Chinese medicine services

　　Since this year, the Yulin Municipal Health and Family Planning Commission has taken the opportunity of deepening the reform of the medical and health system to continuously improve the traditional Chinese medicine service system, enhance the traditional Chinese medicine service capabilities, prosper and develop the traditional Chinese medicine culture, and build a traditional Chinese medicine service network to serve Yulin's economic and social development and people's health. In 2014, Yulin City became the "Pilot City for the Comprehensive Reform of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ethnic Medicine in Guangxi". The remarkable achievements in traditional Chinese medicine services have made Yulin's well-known brand "Southern Medicine Capital" shine brightly.

　　Diagnosing the pulse, reading the tongue, and prescribing prescriptions, village doctor Chen Guozhu skillfully treats villagers at the traditional Chinese medicine clinic of Dashi Village Health Center, Luojiang Town, Rong County. Since the village has a traditional Chinese medicine clinic and a traditional Chinese medicine pharmacy, it has become more convenient for people to seek medical treatment.

　　The convenience of the masses comes from the traditional Chinese medicine service system established in our city - our city has built 7 traditional Chinese medicine hospitals and orthopedic hospitals with integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, including 2 tertiary-level A hospitals and 5 second-level A hospitals; the city has achieved 100% of urban public hospitals, county-level general hospitals, Township health centers and community health service centers have departments of traditional Chinese medicine, and 66% of village clinics can provide traditional Chinese medicine and ethnic medicine services. This has basically formed a three-level traditional Chinese medicine service system with "TCM hospitals taking the lead, township health centers as hubs, and village clinics with a solid network".

　　At present, the construction of traditional Chinese medicine hospitals in our city is in full swing: the overall relocation and reconstruction project of Yulin Orthopedic Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine has started construction, and the new site covers an area of 198 acres; Yulin Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital has secured 180 acres of land, and will be planned and designed in accordance with the overall medical care model; Beiliu Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Rongxian Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Rongxian Orthopedic Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, Luchuan County Five county-level traditional Chinese medicine (integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine) hospitals, including the Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital and Bobai County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, have all passed the second-level review of the level of traditional Chinese medicine hospitals; the Luchuan County Orthopedic Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine was determined to be a second-class integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine hospital in 2015; the investment project within the central budget of Xingye County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital was also issued this year, completely solving the history of no traditional Chinese medicine hospital in Xingye County.

　　In addition, our city continues to improve the management level of traditional Chinese medicine. Last year, our city established the Traditional Chinese Medicine Administration. The director of the Municipal Health and Family Planning Commission also serves as the director of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Administration. The Municipal Health and Family Planning Commission independently set up a Traditional Chinese Medicine Management Section to comprehensively promote the construction of a pilot city for comprehensive reform of traditional Chinese medicine development.

　　Today, our city's traditional Chinese medicine law is well-known both inside and outside the district, the team of famous traditional Chinese medicine doctors continues to grow, and the medical level is steadily improving. Three TCM doctors in the city have been awarded the title of Famous Veteran TCM Doctors in the Autonomous Region, 7 grassroots TCM doctors have been awarded the title of Famous Village Doctors in the Autonomous Region, and more than 60 doctors with expertise in TCM have been awarded the title of Famous Veteran TCM Doctors in Yulin City. On October 20, our city’s first nationwide inheritance studio for famous and veteran Chinese medicine experts was established at the Municipal Orthopedic Hospital. The studio will organize and promote the academic thoughts and clinical experiences of famous and veteran Chinese medicine experts, explore effective methods and innovative models for the inheritance of disease diagnosis and treatment experience and academic thoughts by famous and veteran Chinese medicine experts, and further cultivate a group of high-level Chinese medicine clinical and scientific research talents for our city.

　　Yulin Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital independently developed the "Qingkailing + Xingnaojing + Xingnao Kaiqiao Acupuncture + Early Interventional Rehabilitation" treatment method for the treatment of stroke, forming a distinct and unique academic perspective in the traditional Chinese medicine system. In the past two years, the average number of outpatient visits has reached more than 50,000, and the annual average number of hospitalizations has been 5,000. The Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Massage has become the largest Chinese massage specialty in Guangxi with the largest number of patients.

　　Yulin Orthopedic Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine is the oldest and largest orthopedic hospital in Guangxi, attracting the most patients from outside the province. It has always adhered to and developed the characteristics of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, using traditional Chinese medical methods such as acupuncture, massage, acupoint sealing, traction, traditional Chinese medicine fumigation, and physical therapy. It treats various orthopedic diseases such as neck, shoulder, waist and leg pain. In the clinical work of treating traumatic fractures of limbs, a complete set of theories and methods of integrating traditional Chinese and Western medicine to treat fractures has been summarized. Its treatment methods and effects have reached the domestic advanced level, and the treatment effectiveness rate is above 95%.
