Cleaning, moisturizing, sunscreen, and all other contents such as functional essences, facial masks, exfoliation, massage, etc. are all optional items that can be flexibly increased or decreased based on personal skin type, skin care needs, and current skin condition. There is no unified standard template.
I was in a hurry to catch an early flight, and I didn’t stay up late the night before. I didn’t have any oil on my face. I just used warm water on my face, patted on a light moisturizing lotion, put on sunscreen for commuting, and went out. My face didn’t feel dry or pimpled after wearing makeup all day long. On the contrary, it was in better condition than when I followed the “standard procedure” of applying four layers of essence and then applying cream.
Many people now talk about soap-based discoloration, and think that amino acid cleansing is the only correct choice. In fact, it is not so absolute. In summer, when oily skin is so oily that it can fry an egg, use a soap-based cleansing compound with amino acids. It will wash clean and not tight. It will hurt the skin more than rubbing it with a mild amino acid cleansing for two or three times. As long as you don't use it every day and don't touch it if you have dry or sensitive skin, there is really no need to beat it to death with a stick.
After washing your face, don’t wait until your face is completely dry before looking for skin care products. The 30 seconds just after wiping your face are the golden moisturizing window. At this time, the stratum corneum is most hydrated, and any moisturizing product you apply will be absorbed faster. Some people think that moisturizing needs to be applied layer by layer to be effective. Water, essence, lotion, and cream are all indispensable. In fact, it really depends on your skin type. If you have oily skin, just apply a refreshing toner in summer. If you apply more, it will make your mouth feel stuffy. If you have dry skin, you will still feel tired after applying the cream in winter. It has to be dry. Applying a thin layer of Vaseline to the local area will work better than any expensive moisture-locking essence. Of course, don’t try it if you have oily acne-prone skin. Several friends with oily skin around me followed suit and applied Vaseline all over their faces, and several red pimples broke out the next day. Individual differences are really big.
As for sun protection, which is most easily ignored by everyone, it really needs to be done regardless of spring, summer, autumn and winter, cloudy or sunny days. After all, photoaging caused by ultraviolet rays is the biggest culprit of wrinkles and spots. Nowadays, everyone is arguing about whether physical sunscreen or chemical sunscreen is better. In fact, it really depends on the situation. For sensitive skin, choose pure physical sunscreen that is alcohol-free and fragrance-free, which is less irritating and less prone to redness. For oily skin, choose clear chemical sunscreen in summer, which will not whiten or make the face oily. As long as you choose a mild one that does not require special makeup removal, you can wash it off with ordinary cleansing at night and it will not burden the skin at all. On the contrary, if you insist on using a heavy physical sunscreen that is not suitable for you for the so-called "safety", you will suffer from acne and suffer from acne.
The rest of the functional steps should be added when you have corresponding needs. For example, if you want to lighten acne marks, you can add niacinamide or VC essence before moisturizing. If you want to anti-aging, add A-ol or peptides. However, these functional ingredients have to be tolerated slowly. In order to quickly remove yellowing, a former colleague of mine applied two droppers of high-concentration prototype VC on the first use. The next day, his face became red and stinging. It took almost three weeks to return to normal. Also, facial masks are not a "necessity for skin care". Just apply them two or three times a week to replenish moisture. Applying them every day will over-hydrate the stratum corneum and turn it into sensitive skin that will turn red when touched. There was a debate on the Internet before about whether applying a mask every day will ruin your face. In fact, this is the truth. For healthy skin, it is okay to apply it occasionally for two or three days in a row, but no one can bear it if it is applied every day for a long time.
To put it bluntly, there is really no need to be kidnapped by the "standard skin care procedures" on the Internet. Some people think that applying more than a dozen layers is a skin care enjoyment, while others think that doing it in three steps saves time. As long as your skin is comfortable and in stable condition, you can do it no matter what.
